Free to collector - server and comms racks

Post by Lewy » 13 Jun 2013, 11:06

As title guys, these racks need to be out of here by the end of the weekend. You'll need a van or estate car, they are good bits of kit, the comms rack is complete with door and fans. If noone has them they'll end up going to the skip.

Tell them they could use them as a display cabinet!

I know it's a disgrace! Why is it that so many techies are massively untidy! Luckily the guy isn't with us any more!

I'm doing the cabling once we're moved over into the next room and it'll be perfect! Of course!

We decided to keep the comms cabinet in favour of buying a wall mounted unit but everything is in the cloud now so no need for servers etc  Just the switches and patch panels ;)

BTW - that's some serious kit right there buddy!

Sadly it goes with the turf mate.. you have it all how you like and someone comes along and asks for this port there to be cabled or that port there doesn't work etc.. doesn't take long for the cabling to get out of hand!

Always useful to have a cabinet though, at least you can generally close the door to 'tidy' things up a little :)

We've a pretty decent install...

Somewhere in the region of 50TB worth of storage, a virtual infrastructure, direct link in to Reuters, pan-European connections etc.. Plus we have another room on each of the other two floors with a full height, full size cab packed full of stuff too... not too bad especially as there is only two of us that look after it all!!! :-)
