M is for Motorsport Safety

Post by RayB » 02 Aug 2015, 19:31

BMW M GmbH are commited to providing safety cars for motorsport whether it be four wheels or just the two.

It's not just the M division getting in on the action as last year BMW became the official Safety car and Medical car in the FIA Formula E with the i8 and i3
Safety cars

For the Moto GP The Fleet is pretty impressive with Motorrad's contribution with the BMW S 1000 RR

I like the matt black with the M-stripes...................

I've ridden the S1000 - lightning fast but a bit on the small size for most folk..............

Remarkably good. Like many modern road-going superbikes, they're actually superb in terms of grip and are so light the handling is 1st class...........although the roads limit any efforts at the 'extreme' end of things. Not comfortable though in comparison with my old Fireblade or the Suzuki GSXR1000.

I'm not a fan of the strange headlight arrangement though - too bug eyed for my conservative taste!

I think it's safe to say I'd happily have most any of those... :))
