2012 Charity Auction - Update Thursday Jan 10th 2013

Post by M60NJP » 14 Nov 2012, 07:42

100% of the proceeds from this will go to Cancer Research UK.

http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/home/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I will post up items donated by our generous Forum vendors as they reach me.

The auction is a 'sealed' or 'silent' one where no-one (apart from me!) knows who has even bid, let alone how much each has bid!

Bids are to be PMed to a temporary member account unique for this auction - BMWESAB - so just type this in a new PM and include in the text field which item you're bidding on and how much you are bidding.

The last day for bids to be received is Friday 30th November 2012 - this is to enable dispatch in time for Xmas or 'personal delivery' should the winner be at the Birthday Bash on 1st December or Ace Cafe on 3rd December. Postage for members not at either event will be covered by the Forum.

Where possible, I will include the actual RRP or estimated value as each item is posted.

Shortly after 1st December, I will of course publish the money raised and the acknowledgement letter from Cancer Research UK

Please support this as almost everyone will sadly be affected (directly or indirectly) by cancer at some stage during their lives. Christmas is coming and here's an opportunity to pick up some presents at bargain prices!

As a thought, if none of the items tickles ones fancy could we just make a donation?

Neal hope you don't mind mate, just edited your post so that people can click on the BMWSAB name and send a PM

Top idea, let's hope we make loads for Cancer Research.

As a little sweetener and to help the charity further, my company (Money Angels Group) will match the amount raised by all members

I'll sling a few quid in aswell

I'll be honest and say that I'm happy to double the amount raised but if some nutter comes along and bids £2000 for the kiddie car then I will bow out ever so gracefully.

So here's the offer, through my company and capped at £1000, I'll double the amount raised. I can't say fairer than that

Happy bidding guys

The first bids have begun to arrive, but unless you feel comfortable with Cancer Research UK missing out on what will be a significant donation due to the generosity of our members, get yours in!!

Otherwise, I'll blag a load of good stuff for 10p and we don't want that!!
