Thank you for the welcomes and the input gentlemen, i have ordered the part and it is going into the garage on Wednesday to get seen too by a mechanic.

Is it that the old mount is removed and this one welded in place, or is this mount welded on top of the old one following some tidying up?

FYI, i have paid £750 for the car and was meant to be paying a further £250.. but since this has became apparent i think i need to talk to the guy who sold me it and see what we are going to do..., it has 54000 miles on the clock, there is a fair bit of rust (maybe it was parked by the sea lol), and there is some small oil leak somewhere from the engine and reportedly from the diff according to an old mot certificate.

Im not too worried as i plan to have it patched up and a 328i installed into her before too long. Unless the mechanic sees something disastrous of course, in which case i might think again.

Thanks

C

Hi mate i think it gets welding over the top, and a car with that low mileage shoudlnt be showing signs of tht amount of wear in my opinion, hopefully you can get it cheaper!!!

I think I'd have a word before the work is carried out. Once it's done you have no power to negotiate a deal.

Probably been parked on grass for a while by the look of it, best to have a good look at the entire underside

Cost was £127 for the removal of old mount and welding the new one on. I also paid £14 for the new mount and £38 for two brackets.

Pretty costly, but she is back on the road. Been keyed twice in two days though. I think someone at work is jealous of her.
