Knocking noise.

Post by Jay84 » 25 Jan 2018, 18:40

So, getting a slight knocking noise, only on rotation from the NSF wheel. Gets slightly louder full lock left, quieter right. Stops completely when breaking.

Taken the wheel off and all seams ok, nothing lose etc. Any suggestions?

Also seams to disappear when above 35-40 mph. No vibrations when breaking and any speed too.

What does it do when you jack up the car and spin the wheel

Could be couple of things,

1. Anti roll bar bush
2. Steering rod
3. Top suspension mount
4. Ball joint on lower arm

Had the anti roll bar linkage changed in December. My money is on ball joint tbh. Will get it in next month and checked.

Best thing is to get another arm, will be cheaper then just replacing the ball joint which is a nightmare,

Best thing is wait for the good discount codes to come out :d

In this particular case, I'm pretty sure the problem is the nut that holds the wheel.............
