I had a Sunday lunch here last year on the way back from my flying lesson - real olde worlde pub in a small village, good food etc -BUT I don't think it had a car park so it's park-in-the-street......although the street is hardly busy. It's about 3m off J9 of the M40.

I’m off that day but will have to go down as a possible depending on time and venue.
Due to the fact that Rodders is getting old now and has the start of doggy dementia sadly, it means we don’t do anything without him. I hope you understand, please don’t plan anything with us in mind though.

Just seen this thread after receiving a PM (thanks M60 NJP), but not sure wife and I could make it for 29th October 2017. We might know closer to the date.

Have you guys ever thought of going to a Toby Carvery? All Toby Carvery's are excellent value for money, and can cater for many people. We have been to one near Gloucester and one near Peterborough. We have family at both locations, so we go so no one has to cook for the day.

Anyway, there is one in Oxfordshire, Banbury just off the M40, about 2 to 300 yards from Junction 11. We have been to this one previously and are going there on Saturday 7th October to use a free carvery voucher for 2 people.

Below is the link.... for the Banbury one..

Further to my post above, the Toby Carvery at Banbury do take reservations and they do cater for large groups of 16+. Looking at their site, they ask that anyone organizing a large group to eat at their venue to ring them to ensure that they can fit everyone one in for the proposed date.

Link for large bookings:

Life's to short to be driving boring cars

Should be fine for this. Toby is fine but being a Sunday can sometimes be a little rushed as they are always busy.

With Ray on this, turnstile eaterie, rather take our time in a country pub.
