UK Road Trip with Southside Sixers 27th/28th April

Post by RayB » 12 Nov 2017, 09:49

We have been kindly invited along by Rob Johnson for members to attend this road trip. It gives people an opportunity to join the trip or attend one of the meet points from many parts of the country and it's all for a good cause. Below is the full explanation and itinerary from Rob.

Southside Sixers Shakedown

Who's up for a road trip? Two Countries, 2 Days

As a club we have some fantastic members, but due to us being all over the country its hard to meet up. So this trip gives no one an excuse to not meet us at one of the various meeting points. It would be great if you could join us on this blinding road trip. The beauty of this is that you can join us for the whole trip, part of the trip or just meet us at one of the check points. It really would be great to have you there in some form.

The reason behind this trip is raise money for Jason who as you all know has been suffering from kidney cancer for quite a while now and has gained a secondary kidney cancer in his lungs. As admin we have all spoke and as a club we would like to do something for him and Lynne. Jason has been with us from day one and has always supported the club, via attending meetings and shows to giving other members advise and support or just showing off his pride and joy. Lets give a little to show our support to him and Lynne in there tough time.

We would really like as many members to be involved in this as possible, and if we could ask for a small donation from each member that would be fantastic. I will put up a donations page as well so everyone can see. If you would like to be kept anonymous then I can ***** your name, but if we can raise money it would be for a fantastic cause.

Please donate to the club PayPal : SouthsidersUK[url=memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&un=yahoo.com

The trip its self will consist of us travelling to from Great Yamouth to Oulton Park to Chester into Wales to Llandovery, back into England to the Cheddar Gorge then on to the final leg of our tour which will end at the home of motoring Goodwood.

Itinerary

Friday

Start Point

The starting point of the journey will be at the Pleasure Beach in South Beach Parade, Great Yamouth NR30 3JP. There we will meet up with members and have some breakfast before starting the first leg of the journey.

Meet 7.30am
Leaving 10am

Stop Off

We will stop off at Oulten Park Cicuit, Little Budworth, Tarpoley, CW6 9BW. Here we get to see one of the great British circuits, take photos and stretch our legs before heading to the car meet.

Dinner/Car Meet

The car meet and dinner will take place at Stamford Bridge Inn, Tarvin Road, Chester, CH3 7HN. Here we can meet up with all the members from the north who can't make the shows and meets that are normally in the south. Here we can socialise and have a spot of food, before heading off to the hotel in Wales.

Leave 7pm

Hotel

We will be staying at the Castle Hotel, Kings Road, Landovery, SA20 0AP. This has decent parking and a good starting point for the next leg of our journey.

Hotel

We will be looking at leaving the hotel and travelling down the A4069 which is the road that has been featured on Top Gear and the Grand Tour and is rated as one of the best roads in Britian. From there we will make our way to Cheddar Gorge.

Finishing Point

The last leg of our tour will be Goodwood Motor Circuit, Chichester, PO18 0PX. Goodwood being the home of motor racing is a great way to end a fantastic road trip.
