CD boot changer problem

Post by griff488 » 12 Mar 2016, 11:54

Hi all

New to BMW ownership and have a V reg 323 CI Se.
The boot CD changer seems to be constantly whirring away to itself even with the key out. It does play cd's but I'm concerned that it may flatten the battery over time?
Any suggestions??

Thanks Griff

It will eventually flatten the battery, although the current drain is low - I'd disconnect it anyway. I'm no ICE expert but logic suggests there's a micro-switch inside the CD slot which is knackered and 'thinks' there's a CD in there. Time for a replacement...........

Thats pretty much the conclusion I'd come to. Just wondered if anyone knew of a fix other than replacing!

I suspect someone with very well developed micro-electronics skills could dismantle etc, but they're again cheap to buy............
