radio/cd player re-programming

Hi, I have the standard built in bmw radio/cd/cassette player in my 2003 E46 320d which is faulty can i interchange it with another identical or will it need programming to my car afterwards? thanks for any advice.

I'm pretty sure they're plug 'n play.......

Pretty sure you can swap them out like for like.. I'd guess you'd have issues if you're trying to swap in a satnav unit for example? Good luck! :thumbup:
