Are snap in connectors obsolete ?

Post by Shanusascarabus » 04 Apr 2017, 08:43

As title reads really..
I have a 2006 e92 335i and has the tcu ..... however firstly I'd like to know if the 10 year old technology is just pretty much obsolete and secondly can the unit be doubled up as a ipod dock... i was thinking that if its useless for modern phones like the samsung s7 then I could leave an old iPhone 4s in and use it as a music centre.

Certainly pretty much obsolete if you follow fashion with the latest model of cell phone. However youcan still get cradles for the current I-phones and Samsung etc. Shouldn't be too hard to convert it to play an Ipod though?

Cheers..... looks like a good old fashioned Google is in order... I knew there was a reason for not throwing the old phones away :)
