Rear tailgate washer issue on an 03 320i Touring

Postby TheRoosterina325Ci » 04 Dec 2017, 16:29

Hi to you all out there. With the help of a third party I have discovered that the rear screen washer water is not going through the jet but it is coming out from beneath the top screen cover.
Access is rather limited and does not look straight forward.
I have searched through my Haynes manual and it would appear that they do not have any issues with them simply because there is nothing about them - unless of course I need a visit to an optician !!!

I suspect that the hose has become detached or is damaged. Does anyone have any idea how to gain access to the rear of the fitting without risking breaking the piece of thin plastic trim that appears to be covering it ?

Ignorance of a complex subject is often described as bliss, but in the case of the complexities of an E46 it sometimes also needs deep pockets.

Hi M60NJP. The profile image is of my 67,000 miles 2002 reg 325Ci Convertible Auto and as there does not appear to be a specific section of the 3 series forum for the Touring variants I just went ahead and posted the issue into the general section.

Indeed I did that very same thing just after I bought it but relating to something totally different.

I am also a registered member of another forum that has a specific area for the Touring variants but they are based in the USA and with the time difference and certain model specific differences to what we have in the UK/Europe there are not always resolves to some issues.

*** Hi again M60NJP. Thank you for the 'Heads-up' on the absence of the vital clue as to which car I was posting about.

It's fine where you've posted it but if you want advice it would be better if you stated what the car is.
