E61 530D Lumpy when idle

Post by Zennon » 08 Sep 2017, 11:19

Starting this week the engine is running really lumpy when idle. No power loss when driving and nothing else out of of the norm. INPA does show plugs need to be changed could this be the issue?

Diesel? So glow plugs only which would affect cold starting but should cause lumpy idling. More likely an air leak if none of the sensors are showing up as faulty.

The early 3.0 used to suffer from injectors not sure if they ever sorted this out so it could be the problem
But so many things can cause lumpy idle
Life's to short to be driving boring cars

After running a tank of Shell Optimax and injection cleaner through, it has corrected it. Guessing it was blocked and after a "Good" run down the M4 if cleaned out the blockage.
