Fault warning lights

Post by vangogh » 11 Mar 2016, 07:50

I was driving yesterday and suddenly the warning gong sounded and I had ABS Failure, DTC Failure, and Puncture indicator Failure. I am sure that they can't have failed all together there must be a common cause. Any ideas. Faults cleared this morning.

That problem is caused by the brake hydro unit DSC electronics, worst case is they develop dry joints on the circuit board over time and it being a sealed unit is difficult to repair.

But its not all bad however, they also develop a bad connection on the wiring plug which will give the same symptoms but is easily fixable, just remove the wiring plug and clean both the plug and socket with a good electrical cleaner (do not use anything except dedicated Electrical cleaner) disconnect the battery first and wait 30 mins before touching anything.

You will find this unit under the bonnet near the driver side suspension strut, part number 1 in the picture below, yours will have small pipes attached to it that are not shown in the pic.

Thanks for the info. Cleaned up the contacts. Hasn't come back on. Yet.
