wheels refurbed

Post by Andyk » 10 Aug 2014, 11:11

Finally got around to a wheel refurb....Since I bought the car a few months back it was the first job I needed to do as they were corroded and not in a good state. The chap who had the car before had them painted in matt black and although I love black wheels they just didn't look right because of the chrome window surround. Originally I was going to get the window surround dechromed but since I've bought the car I really like it as it is so the wheel colour need to change...............

Straight silver I didn't really want and when I took it to the wheel specialist and they put a silver wheel against the car it didn't work for me and grey just didn't stand out against the colour so went for black chrome.........In certainly light it looks dark and in brighter in sunshine..... I am very pleased with the results but did take a few days to get used to as black always gave the impression the car was lower and rather mean, but this colour does suit the character of the car more I think and the wheel style.

The inside and around the recess are darker than the face which I like as well.

I'm not a fan of the wheel style, but the colour choice is great.

I have noticed that since I've been on here that it is not a popular wheel style.......It was never my first choice but they have really grown on me.....

Colour really suits the car indeed. Nice job.

Just stay the hell away from any kerbs! That style of alloy does stick out a bit.

Yep, found that as soon as I had her...I never curb wheels but did it after the first week...Lesson learnt though.
