Ngy's E46 M3 vert - Imola red

Post by Ngy » 10 Jan 2016, 09:52

Rewind 2 weeks ago; I found the perfect M3 (for me) but it was over 300 miles away. A guy on M3cutters went to have a look at it for me and gave me a very detailed report including pictures, videos and a huge summary of the whole car. I was more than happy with everything except the subframe, he hadn't been able to check it so I spoke to the dealer and we agreed a refundable deposit depending on the condition of the subframe upon inspection.

Fast forward 2 weeks and yesterday at 0830 I hopped on a plane at Glasgow. I arrived at the dealer at around 1300 after taking 2 trains and a C63 AMG. We got the car on the ramps immediately and I had a good poke about the subframe mounting points. I was happy that there were no tears however I wanted more; we discussed a subframe warranty, so we agreed I would get the subframe inspected officially and if any damage was found they would pay a good sized contribution towards the repair.

So being happy with that, we completed the deal and that was that. I had to sit in the forecourt and activate my insurance and get tax, then I was off. 6 hours down the road through monsoon season, gutted as I wanted to enjoy the drive, but tbh I was scared of binning it! All was ok though, cruise control is awesome!

Anyway, enough of all that, here is the spec:

2003 facelift
Imola red convertible
Colour coded hardtop
Black nappa leather, heated and electric memory
Auto dim rear view
sat nav/android unit
cruise control
xenons
auto wipers
rear PDC

After the driver there are a few things I want to sort quickly;

RTABs
new clubsport gear knob
retrim steering wheel
fix passenger side door sensor
new fuel level sensor
new BMW bonnet badge
repair/replace auto dim mirror

Some teaser pics

Love the Imola red - fairly rare too. Good guys on Cutters so not surprised they found you a good 'un.

Now all we have to do is tempt you southwards to a show this year..........

Cheers fellas, imola red and manual is indeed quite rare, although it's not mint, it's perfect for me as a 3rd car.

We'll see what we can do! I haven't been to a show for years! Since 2012 I think.

Nice one James!! Ruth is on about an E30 convertible to replace the 118 but I must admit an E46 M3 would be my choice. But this one is up to her! Enjoy it mate looks the nuts
