Thanks guys. I love it! The wait has been worth it.

Booked into bmw in glasgow for a more in depth subframe inspection on the 20th.

Progress will be slow to start with as we finally move into our new house on friday.

Looks awesome dude! I'm pretty sure I've seen your username on Cutters. Any plans for it or leave as standard?

Looks good man! Think we need to have a catchup when it gets a bit warmer!

Is BMW taking the rear axle down? That's the only way to inspect it properly.

So a few small updates

Subframe was checked and they found 2 tiny cracks, which is fine because I wanted to get it reinforced anyway. Going to Chizfab in April for the full works. Best part is that the dealer that I bought the car from is contributing to it, which was one of the conditions of buying the car.

Next up, we moved into our new house! What an amazing feeling, having my own garage and yard! Here she is; we got snowed in the very next day haha

Image

I've only really bought a couple things for the m3; cupholders and a 545i shifter kit from BMW. Yet to fit the shifter but I love the cupholders, especially with a little added extra 12v supply.

Image

FInally, I've been buying some more detailing kit, after a DA polisher this weekend, and fortunately I live 5 mins from Chemical Guys UK store! The owner also has an E46 m3 vert in PY tucked up in the shop which has just had a respray and is looking sweet!

And a random shot of my ass ;)

That's it for now, will update at the weekend!

Imola Red is the bollocks, I had a 330 in the same colour, loved it, wish I never sold it.

Bought a Dodo Juice one a little while ago... nice and easy to use and provides some great results... only really had a little play on the bonnet of mine and a couple of panels on Tom's but you can really see a difference... Got rid of a 'bird strike' on mine that had been there since I've owned the car... was very pleased... On Tom's the paint came up nicely and all-but-removed a scratch on the wing that ran on to the door... on the wing you can't see it, but still really visible on the door (I'll get around to finishing it one day!!!! :)) )

Time for an update, I've waited until now for 2 reasons, first being that BT didn't get their finger out until a few weeks ago to sort our fibre out at our new build, so internet was strictly phone data only and secondly with buying our first house, buying the M3 and paying for our wedding venue all in January, I wanted to get a few things done to make the thread more interesting.

So here goes:

I wanted to make sure that it fitted into the garage, it was tight but do-able

Image

Bought myself the 545i shifter upgrade, came with bushing and 2 retaining clips. Easy to fit, all from inside the car

Image

Picked up some tein springs from a facebook selling page, they sat for a while as I wanted to do the suspension refresh

Image

The imola paint is very swirly so I bought the following from Chemical Guys UK, who just happen to live up the street from my new house. Never used one before but seems easy enough!

Image

State of the swirls prior to any correction work, not even an polish with SRP. No pics of the afters as the polishes I bought weren't aggressive enough to shift the swirling.

Hardtop off and onto the stand in the garage

collecting parts for the suspension rebuild inc;

- Sachs shocks x 4
- ATE front brake discs
- PF front pads
- Lemforder track rod assemblies x 2
- Lemforder rear top mounts
- Rear top mount reinforcement plates
- Powerflex RTA bushes
- Powerflex FCAB bushes
- Lemforder control arms x 2
- BMW front and rear arb bushes
- Lemforder rear drop links
- BMW front drop links

New BMW badge and clubsport gearknob, also the recess for the wind deflector too as mine was cracked

State of my garage after the work

Image

Got some cheap oil from amazon, the the filter kit and oil level sensor from BMW, not changed this yet, been too busy at work!

Image

Cool sign from work, since I'm upgrading the A8 to the M8 this sign would be redundant and look better on my garage wall

Image

Side project, sorting some of my tools out

Snow foaming

After shots at the local train station car park

Took the car to work... never again...

Pic from last sunday, finally got my private plate on!

I also have 15/12mm spacers to fit plus the oil service. Recently got myself a wind deflector for £80 too, works so well! Wish I had got one for my E36 vert.

More updates to come after this weekend, going to get the DA out again.
