Love Imola, cars looking great, but you'll have to have her wrapped in Salmon pink to take Lewys H/D Crown.lol

Very tidy bud.... Doesn't look as though you'll get the car in the garage whilst the hardtop is in there! pretty snug!

What was the compound you used on the DA? I use the Meguiars two step and that seems to cut pretty well.. I've found the trick is to not move the DA too much too quickly... Small amount of pressure and slow, even movements - up/down then left/right over the same area 4 - 5 times... then use the lighter compound with the softer pad and repeat making sure you've cleaned any residue prior to changing compounds...

Either way, she's looking good man!

It is snug. When i do my garden I'll store the hardtop in the shed to make space for the car in the garage.

Initially I used the chemical guys v32 and v34 with their pads but then I got the megs microfibre correction compound with microfibre pad and its worked a treat. No after shots as yet but it has made mincemeat of the swirls. Also got some denim pads coming to remove a bit of orange peel.

With the megs microfibre kit its literally 3 passes on high speed and 3 on low speed and the swirls are gone. I haven't used any finishing stuff yet though. Any recommendations?

Only a little progress here:

Got a new work truck... so my driveway looks like this now

Image

Last week I changed the engine and gear oil, all went smoothly and the car drives lovely now. I also replaced the oil level sensor as it didnt work when I got the car. Finally I dont get an oil light upon start up and I now get oil temp!

I have also changed the xenon ignitor on the drivers side as the light sometimes wouldnt come on, it required me to cycle the switch a few times for it to come on. Followed a DIY thread and it was easy. Works like a dream now.

Today I changed the front driver wheel bearing. Have done 4 of these on different BMWs and this one was by far the easiest, since I had the whole lot off for the suspension refresh, the full job took 15 mins. The hub slid off with the race still attached. The new bearing, a FAG item went on with 2 gentle taps of a rubber mallet.

Image

I also took this chance to fit my 15mm front spacers which I waited to fit due to the bearing issue.

Will get pics once I drive the car and the springs resettle.

Also a little shot of the bonnet which was waxed with zymol glassur 3 weeks ago.. still beading nicely.

Just bought 8 new tyres so kind of skint now! 4 for the 1 series and 4 for the m3. Just in time for both cars to get MOTd next week!

I always have to say F-A-G instead of FAG at work lol. Good quality though.
