scumbags man... why do people feel the need to do this sh.t?!?!?!? When I'd had my Touring for a little while, some scrote kicked one of the original mirrors off breaking the cast mount.. Most annoying but silver linings and all that, took the opportunity to upgrade to M3 mirrors....... :)

Don't get excited it's only a small update

It's that time of year again when it needs an mot
Last year the tester mentioned the pads and the brake pipes (front flexy)

I fitted discs and pads all round but didn't think the pipe were that bad (I've seen worse) so left them
Well as its time for the MOT I thought I'd keep the tester on side and replace them beforehand

Old and new
I bought the two new pipes from a company in Germany!
Only cost £20 including postage "bargain"
image.jpeg
2
You need to look closely while you bend the pipe to see the cracked outer rubber sleeve
Odd place for it to go in the middle they tend to go at the ends
image.jpeg
Luckily for me the fittings weren't rusty so they come undone
I had the new pipes on and the brakes bled before Alison had made the breakfast :-bd
MOT is booked for Saturday I can't see any reason it won't pass but with the new MOT laws coming soon next year we will have to convert the headlights back to Halogen but that's no bad thing I don't think the ones in are any good anyhow

Good to hear she's all well for another year
Funnily enough i had similar with the brake pipes but on the rear.
In the middle and not at the ends. Still not bad lasting for originals :)

Well the Sun's out so the roofs down
As this is Alison's every day car when it's not needed the wind deflector is removed because it gets in the way

So (I was told) it was time to put it back in
Now when it's fitted it can rattle so I added two small felt pads to stop the rattle
image.jpeg
image.jpeg
Only one other problem to date
I got a phone call from Alison last week saying the car was cutting out on idle
Had a quick look and it was the intake pipe split (common fault with most BMW)
image.jpeg
image.jpeg
Easy fix pipe was £45 from BMW
Not much of an update

Well I've been working on this update for quite some time
Alison bought some second hand alloys shortly after buying the car and I've been refurbishing them since

First step was getting them sand blasted
Then get them in primer
For the inside and iner face I went with white
Then silver base and lacquer
New centre caps and new toyo tyres

It's taken quite a while to do because I've not been able to get them in the garage so I've had to do most of the work img the garden "so very weather permitting"
Happy with the outcome
If anyone is interested il break the cost down

Second hand wheels £80
BMW centre caps £30
Sand blasting £50
Paint and materials £70

Job done
Four toyo tyres £230
