Found a 2nd hand gearbox for £140 but had done 80k before being removed and hasn’t been recon before. £200 to fit, but going to a Mini specialist locally tomorrow to get a price on bearings and seals as that might only be £250.

New rear clear lights bought, change of stripes for the bonnet and adding the same to the tailgate

Added some before pics, after ones to follow once fitted Image

Just need a decent condition steering wheel, but seems to be the bane of the car that they wear heavily.

Has anyone a decent spare to sell or is this common wearing?

Can't say I've heard of premature wearing - it's often rings on fingers that do the damage.

There sre companies out there that do refurbs, but how much relative to buying a new wheel I don't know.?

Thanks M60, having been driving it 2 days, it would seem to be ring wear yes, from the position of it.

I’ll look at refurb, a 2nd hand one is anything from £20-£50 but finding an undamaged one isn’t straightforward by the looks of it.

I’ll have a Google and see

Guys, anyone got experience of removing bonnet stripes and fading of the paintwork?
I’m not expecting a problem, as I’m planning taking mine off Friday and getting the new ones on, if they’ve arrived

None, but a car that age will show fading - not a problem but the replacements will need to be mili-fractions accurate!!

Cheers, going for a completely different style, got a decent cutting compound to give it a polish before fitting the new ones
