What's in an alloy wheel?

Looking to buy my 1st BMW.
See BMW 220's / 230's with different alloys 6/8/more is the right term spokes. What's the difference ? :-bd

Style & appearance. Some only come in certain sizes though.

Being I don't know if I like hard or soft suspension ie don't know what there is out there or what I like any recommendations lol ?
And normal tyres I guess for economy not flats for style (or other?) ?

Impossible to say if even you don't know what you like! No significant difference between RTFs and non-RFT for (fuel) economy, although RTFs cost more and don't last as long and tend to ride 'firmer' due to the reenforced side walls.
