What do you have planned for the boot build just out of interest ? In still torn between a double ported enclosure or an isobaric design.

Simple 10/12 inch sub either in the spare wheel or against the side neat and tidy probably ported. Got a audiobahn 12 inch knocking about I may use or buy a jl audio one

Nice, how do you port the air through to the front, i assume if the 330 is a saloon or convertible then through the rear centre seat, but with the coupe there are fewer options lol

Simple... Axel grinder in the middle shelf make big hole and port that hole with a acoustic carpet over the top of the rear shelf so it's stealth ha ha ha ha.

Didn't anyone tell you I will try anything on a car lol

^ i love your ideas, just for this car at least im trying to keep the butchering to a minimum i spent alot of time sealing my parcel shelf in order to keep the maximum amount of sound from the rears in, you wouldn't believe all i have is 4 measly 13cm woofers in there currently

Got the 5 channel this evening as a stop gap whilst the 4 is off to gordon for a service, have to say im quite impressed with the quality even though its not as tight as the Dual Mono, which in all fairness blew me away for clarity on the fronts. Still this leaves me thinking about wether to go for a single 12 or two 10's off of the four channel bridged now. Back to the drawing board....

E36 coupe genesis set up improvements

Postby Ldridge » 05 Nov 2014, 20:44

Ok so i went to see an old sound techie friend of mine at the weekend and having just taxed the car i made the 135 mile journey up to his friday night for a good session. Since i put the 5 channel genesis amp in as a stop gap whilst i decide what to do with my four channel and dual mono i mentioned it to him and he gave me his old e46 sub, one of two kicker L5 12" in a 2ft sealed box. I was surprised how much the 5 channel can give out despite having to run four channels without loss of SQ. The seperate power supply inside the amp for the sub channel is very decent as currently its only running through two RCA's which is what i had before until i upgrade the grounding points and have the interior out again for a proper sub install with extra tweeters
